Archives Hub

Archives Hub functions as a centralized gateway for primary source research, cross-searching descriptions of over 30,000 collections held across more than 440 UK academic institutions, specialist repositories, museums, and business archives. Rather than storing records directly, the platform aggregates detailed finding aids—including research papers, diaries, corporate records, and photographs—and enriches them with advanced multi-criteria filtering, location mapping, and direct repository contact features. The portal provides high practical value to historians, academic researchers, and librarians by consolidating scattered archival holdings into a single, searchable digital directory, simplifying the discovery of unique primary data and connecting users with local repositories for physical or digital collection access.
