Scite

Scite operates as a comprehensive academic evaluation workspace built on an indexed database of over 317 million scholarly articles and 1.6 billion "Smart Citations" aggregated through partnerships with more than 44 major publishers. Moving beyond traditional citation counts, the platform utilizes machine learning models to analyze citation statements and classify whether subsequent studies support, contradict, or simply mention a given paper's claims. The platform's main features include a natural-language AI Assistant that delivers evidence-grounded answers linked directly to source text, a Reference Check tool to automatically flag retractions or editorial notices in manuscripts, and customizable citation tracking dashboards. Tailored for researchers, students, librarians, and academic institutions, Scite provides practical value by accelerating literature reviews, ensuring the integrity of references, and delivering transparent insight into the reliability of scientific claims.
