OpenEdition

OpenEdition operates as a comprehensive electronic portal that aggregates scholarly work across four core platforms: OpenEdition Books, OpenEdition Journals, Hypotheses (research blogs), and Calenda (academic events calendar). The infrastructure coordinates peer-reviewed publications, institutional findings, and academic notices, offering thousands of books and hundreds of journals primarily centered on French-language and international scholarship. Supported by major academic institutions and libraries through its Freemium subscription program, it grants users broad read-access while enabling member networks to download flexible digital formats like PDFs or ePubs. The portal serves university researchers, students, educators, and library systems by providing a reliable framework to discover, publish, and track contemporary developments in global social and historical disciplines.
