Heritage Crafts Makers Directory

The Heritage Crafts Makers Directory website operates as a non-profit membership roster mapping traditional visual and tactile arts across major categories like basketry, ceramics, metalwork, leather, stone, and glass. Managed by a registered charity, the platform provides direct pathways to purchase handmade items straight from verified masters, locate open studio workshops to visit, hire live performance demonstrators for public fairs, and connect with experienced tutors who teach their trades. It coordinates directly with broader preservation frameworks such as the Endangered Crafts Fund and "The Red List" tracking cultural skills at risk of extinction. Built for an audience of cultural tourists, educators, independent retailers, and heritage collectors, the site delivers high practical utility by linking consumers with specialized practitioners like mail restorers and traditional parchment makers without intermediary trade brokers.
